Coach Ficca enters his tenth season as the head coach of the Laramie County Community College men’s basketball team. Under his direction, the Golden Eagles claimed back-to-back South Sub-Region titles in 2009-2010 and 2010-2011. He was named South Sub-Region Coach of the Year following the 2009-2010 season.
Prior to coming to LCCC, Ficca spent four years at Martin Methodist College in Pulaski, Tennessee, where he served as head coach for two seasons. In his last season, Ficca led his team to a 20-12 record including a winning record against nationally ranked opponents. He was honored as the 2006-2007 TranSouth Conference Coach of the Year. As an assistant coach at Martin Methodist, he helped lead the Redhawks to 22 victories, a top-25 national ranking, the TranSouth Conference Tournament championship, and a berth in the NAIA National Tournament.
Prior to his four seasons in Tennessee, Ficca served as assistant coach at the University of Idaho in 2001-2002. From 1998 to 2001, Ficca served as head coach at Treasure Valley Community College in Ontario, Oregon.
Ficca earned his bachelor’s degree in history and master’s degree in sports and recreation management from the University of Idaho. Coach Ficca and his wife, Carmen, have a daughter, Isabella.
