CHEYENNE, WY – The Laramie County Community College men's soccer team scored two first half goals and defeated Western Wyoming Community College 3-0 on Wednesday afternoon at home. The Golden Eagles improve to 2-9-1 overall and 2-2-1 in Region IX North play.
Israel Hernandez (Las Vegas, Nevada) got the Golden Eagles on the board in the 13th minute off a pass from Eddie Mercado (Las Vegas, Nevada). In the 38th minute Francisco Garcia (Las Vegas, Nevada) converted on a pass from Jacob Alvarez (Las Vegas, Nevada) to make 2-0 right before the half. Hernandez would get his second goal in the 48th minute on a pass from Ricardo Vazquez (Denver, Colorado).
The Golden Eagles outshot the Mustangs 20-13 and led 10-8 in shots on goal. Hernandez led the Golden Eagles with eight shots. Angel Alvarez (Las Vegas, Nevada) started in goal and made eight saves.
The Golden Eagles will travel to Northwest College on Saturday, October 7 for a Region IX North matchup with the Trappers at 1 p.m.
