CHEYENNE – Caylin Arnold (Strasburg, Colorado) registered 19 points and 10 rebounds but it wasn't enough as Laramie County (8-16) fell 74-58 to North Platte Community College Wednesday at home.
The Golden Eagles will entertain McCook Community College in a 2 p.m. South-Sub Region tip Saturday at the RAC.
A three-pointer by Allison Tichy pushed a 7-0 run to begin the outing for the Lady Knights. North Platte broke into an eight point lead at the end of the first quarter.
LCCC held strong throughout the second quarter as Arnold kept converting down low on the block. A late bucket by Darian Hale (Briggsdale, Colorado) cut the deficit to nine heading to the half.
The home team broke out on an early run to begin to third period but turnovers allowed the Lady Knights to push the lead back up. A layup late in the quarter by Madison Hamm (Fort Collins, Colorado) cut the lead to 10, 55-45 heading to the closing frame.
North Platte started the fourth with a 6-0 run and pushed the lead to 16. NPCC held the home team in check over the remainder of the quarter and didn't surrender the lead for the 74-58 win.
Hale scored 15 points for the evening while Hamm tallied 10 points. Morgan Dana (Afton, Wyoming) pulled down five rebounds.
