Cheyenne, Wyoming – The Laramie County Community College Lady Golden Eagles basketball team hosted South-Sub Region IX opponent, Lamar Community College on Saturday at the RAC. The Golden Eagles won by a score of 71-66, improving to 11-16 overall on the year and 5-9 in conference play.
Caylin Arnold (Strasburg, CO) led LCCC in scoring with 23 points, shooting 9-of-16 from the field and 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. Arnold also added seven rebounds, two assists and a block. Kate Fiscus (Cokeville, WY) added a career-high 12 points going 4-of-8 from the field and pulling down six rebounds.
LCCC shot 41.9 percent (26-of-62) from the field versus 36.5 percent (23-of-63) for LCC and the rebound battle was dominated by LCCC with a 45-32 edge.
The Golden Eagles (11-16, 5-9) will travel next Saturday to open up the Region IX Tournament. Opponent and time not set yet.
