CHEYENNE, Wy. – The Laramie County Community College women's basketball was unable to bounce back from an early ten-point deficit against Otero Junior College on Friday, and the Golden Eagles fell to the Rattlers, 54-42, in the first round of the Region IX Tournament.
Laramie County finishes the season at 11-17 overall. Otero will head in the quarterfinals next week.
Freshman Caylin Arnold and Katelyn Smith tallied the only double figures effort of the game for LCCC, putting up 17 and 13 points respectively. Madison Hamm led the Golden Eagles on the boards with 11 rebounds.
The Golden Eagles shot 27.1 percent from the field to Otero's 30 percent, and went 21.1 percent from the perimeter while the Rattlers shot 36.4 percent.
Savannah Madrid-Andrews led Otero putting up a game-high 22 points along with four steals. Brooklyn Waddles contributed with 14 rebounds, while Cydney Kreutzer put up another 13 points.
