The Laramie County Community College Fortnite: No Build duo of Victoria Kershaw and Adam Kirwin delivered when it mattered most, securing a 2-1 victory over Moberly Area Community College in the NJCAAE Central Region 3rd Place Match and officially punching their ticket to the National Tournament, which begins next Monday at 4 PM.
The match didn't start in LCCC's favor. MACC edged out a tight opening round 4-3, putting early pressure on the Golden Eagles. But Kershaw and Kirwin responded exactly how top competitors do, with composure, confidence, and a complete shift in momentum.
In Round 2, the duo flipped the script with a dominant 18-12 win, showcasing their aggressive playstyle and ability to control engagements. At one point during the round, Victoria Kershaw joked that once she found a gold combat, it was game over for MACC. Turns out, she wasn't wrong.
That momentum carried straight into a decisive third round, and they didn't just win it, they made a statement.
Round 3 was all LCCC.
Kershaw and Kirwin overwhelmed MACC 24-11, closing out the series with authority and leaving no doubt about who deserved the final podium spot. Across all three matches, the Golden Eagles outscored MACC 45-27, a testament to their consistency and firepower after the opening round.
With the win, Victoria Kershaw and Adam Kirwin now turn their attention to the national stage, where they'll represent LCCC against the best teams in the country.
The Golden Eagles are heating up at exactly the right time, and they're not done yet.
