One day after earning a strong win, the Laramie County Community College men's soccer team found themselves in a hard-fought contest with Truckee Meadows. Despite twice pulling level, the Golden Eagles came up just short, falling 3–2 in Sunday's match.
First Half: Truckee Meadows Strikes First
Truckee Meadows took the early lead in the 19th minute when Roberto Castillo unleashed a long-range strike from 24 yards, assisted by Valentin Linan. LCCC battled to create chances, registering two shots in the half, but went into the break trailing 1–0.
Second Half: Goals on Both Sides
The second half erupted with action. The Golden Eagles equalized in the 50th minute when Darrien Gates II confidently buried a penalty kick to make it 1–1.
Truckee Meadows responded just five minutes later, as Anthony Garcia redirected a ball inside the box to restore the lead.
LCCC showed resilience once again, tying the game in the 68th minute when Usiel Franco-Cruz rose to meet a corner from Emiliano Rico, heading it home to make it 2–2.
However, the decisive moment came late. In the 84th minute, Truckee Meadows' Angel Nava found space at the top of the box and converted, sealing the 3–2 result in favor of the visitors.

Looking Ahead
With the loss, LCCC moves to 1–1 on the young season. The Golden Eagles will look to bounce back quickly as they return home to face Casper College (Wyoming) this weekend in what promises to be exciting opener to the Region IX Campaign.
