Bomhoff and Dunagan shine in opening goes of 2025 CNFR

CASPER, WY – The opening slack round of the 2025 College National Finals Rodeo from the Casper Events Center was a strong one for the Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles.

Led by a top five finish from Cory Bomhoff in tie down where the sophomore from Cheyenne represented for his home town college with a 9.2 second run on his first calf of the CNFR.

Not to be out shone, Kassidy Dunagan ran out to a 7.0 second run in goat tying where she is 21st in a field of 49 athletes. This is the second trip to the CNFR for Dunagan after she finished in 14th place last year, just missing out on the short go.

The top times in the two events are 8.3 seconds in tie down, put down by Tyler Calhoun of Southwest Texas College and a 6.0 second time in goat tying from Mayce Marek of Texas A&M Commerce City.

Action begins tomorrow with tie down scheduled to go third in the day, expected to start around 8:00 am. Goat tying will be later in the afternoon. Both Golden Eagles will also be coming back for Tuesday night's performance round, with the start scheduled for 7:00 pm MST.
