The Spring 2026 College Rodeo Season has Begun!

LCCC's rodeo student athletes have officially begun their spring rodeo run in the Central Rocky Mountain region of the National Intercollegiate Rodeo Association (NIRA). Their first rodeo was held March 20-22, in Gillette, Wyoming, hosted by the Gillette College Pronghorns.
 
Both the men's and women's teams had a great weekend, as was summed up by Coach Dean Finnerty, "We just completed our first spring rodeo…our LCCC athletes stepped up and did really well! What a way to start the spring season! I am super excited for them, and can't wait to see their accomplishments by the end of the season!"
 
Several of the women had a very strong weekend:
In the breakaway roping, Rayna Billingsley won the long go, was 2nd in the short go and split 1st-2nd in the average. In the barrel racing, Sidney Oedekoven won the short go and was 4th in the average. And, in the goat tying, Rozlyn Herren won 6th in the short go. 
 
The men also had a great weekend:
In the steer wrestling, Bodhi Coombs won the long go, won the short go and won the average.
In the team roping, Chase Olson and Bodhi Coombs won 2nd in the long go.
In the bareback riding, Rhett Tattrie, placed 5th in the 2nd go.
 
Coach Finnerty complimented Gillette on their rodeo, saying "They put on a great rodeo, and we were tickled to be a part of it."
 
The Central Rocky Mountain region's spring season will continues as follows:
March 27-29, at Eastern Wyoming College, in Torrington, Wyoming.
April 3-5, at Colorado State University, in Loveland, Colorado.
April 17-19, at Casper College, in Casper, Wyoming.
April 24-26, at the University of Wyoming, in Laramie, Wyoming. (This is the final rodeo of the spring season.)
