CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Laramie County Community College women's basketball Gabi O'Connor will continue her education and basketball career at a university next fall. O'Connor, a 5'7 point guard from Colorado Springs, Colorado signed a Letter of Intent with Western Colorado University.
"I really enjoyed my visit and liked what the university had to offer in continuing my career," said O'Connor. "The coach really cares about the players and I know she will help me continue to grow as a person and a player."
Western Colorado University is located in Gunnison, Colorado and competes in the NCAA Division II Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.
O'Connor led the Golden Eagles in scoring averaging 15.6 points per game and shot 79.7 percent from the free throw line. She dished out 2.4 assists per game and pulled down 4.3 rebounds per game. Gabi scored a career-high 32 points in a win against Trinidad State Junior College on Dec. 1st. She had 15+ points in 15 games this season for the Golden Eagles.
Gabi transfers after a strong season at LCCC where she helped the Golden Eagles to a third place finish in the Region IX North Conference and an overall record of 19-12.
