In a competitive matchup on Saturday afternoon, Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) pulled away in the fourth quarter to defeat Laramie County Community College (LCCC) 71–55 at the Cougar Palace. WNCC led throughout the game, but LCCC kept the contest close until the final period. The Cougars outscored the Golden Eagles 24–16 in the fourth quarter, sealing the win.
LCCC saw balanced scoring from multiple players. Hannah Briskey paced the Golden Eagles with 19 points and five rebounds, while Jessica Taylor chipped in 11 points and four assists. Nuria Florensa was perfect from the field, scoring 10 points on 4-of-4 shooting. WNCC sophomore guard Zozefine Sipolina led all scorers with 21 points, including five three-pointers, while Ella Chesta-Carty added 16 points and six rebounds. Brynn Sybrant contributed a strong inside presence with 15 points and seven boards.
Despite shooting a solid 46.5% from the field and 41.7% from beyond the arc, LCCC struggled with turnovers, committing 23 compared to WNCC's 10. The Cougars also dominated the glass, outrebounding LCCC 40–28, including 21 offensive boards that led to second-chance opportunities.
