CHEYENNE, Wyo.
Laramie County Community College (LCCC) delivered a commanding performance Thursday night, defeating Trinidad State College 82–39 at home. The Golden Eagles showcased balanced scoring and relentless defense, pulling away early and never looking back.
LCCC jumped out to a 23–13 lead in the first quarter and extended their advantage to 41–19 by halftime. The second half was no different, as the Eagles poured in 41 more points while holding Trinidad State to just 20. Nuria Florensa led the charge with 16 points on 7-of-13 shooting, including two three-pointers. Helena Salazar Meinesz was perfect from the field (5-of-5), adding 12 points and four rebounds. Glorielle Mukeba dominated the paint with 12 points and a team-high nine rebounds. The Eagles shot 39.7% from the floor and connected on 10 three-pointers, while also converting 70% from the free-throw line.
Gabby O'Hara paced the Trojans with 16 points, including four three-pointers. Blanca Oranias Ramon contributed 11 points and six rebounds.
Despite their efforts, Trinidad State struggled offensively, shooting just 31.4% overall and 21.1% from beyond the arc.
LCCC dominated the boards, out-rebounding Trinidad State 50–42, and forced 27 turnovers while recording 12 steals.
