CHEYENNE, Wyo. — Laramie County Community College (LCCC) showcased grit and determination in a thrilling Region IX matchup, taking Western Nebraska Community College (WNCC) to overtime before falling 74–70 at home.

The Golden Eagles led 33–30 at halftime and kept the contest tight throughout regulation. Despite a strong defensive effort and clutch free-throw shooting, LCCC came up just short in the extra period as WNCC outscored them 10–6.

Hannah Briskey powered the Eagles with 18 points and 9 rebounds, dominating the paint and hitting all four of her free throws. Selenay Tanik added 11 points, going 5-of-6 from the line, while Jessica Taylor contributed 7 points and a team-high 6 assistsJulia Sanz Bonet provided a spark from deep, knocking down three triples for 9 points.

LCCC shot 41.7% from the field and an impressive 75% from the free-throw line. The Eagles connected on 8 three-pointers, spreading the floor and keeping WNCC's defense honest. Defensively, LCCC forced 16 turnovers and recorded 6 steals, showing their trademark hustle.
