Golden Eagles Secure Home Victory Over Casper College

CHEYENNE, Wyo. — February 4, 2026
The Laramie County Community College women's basketball team delivered a complete performance Wednesday night, defeating Casper College 78–67 at the LCCC gymnasium. Behind balanced scoring, efficient shooting, and consistent defensive pressure, the Golden Eagles led for most of the contest and closed strong to secure the conference win.

LCCC set the tone early, opening the game with a 23–14 first-quarter advantage. The Golden Eagles pushed the tempo offensively and capitalized at the free-throw line, forcing Casper to play from behind for much of the night. LCCC maintained its momentum into halftime, carrying a 40–32 lead into the break.

The third quarter proved pivotal as LCCC matched Casper's physicality while continuing to execute on offense. Casper made a brief push behind aggressive perimeter play, but the Golden Eagles responded with timely baskets and defensive stops to keep control of the game. Entering the final period, LCCC held a 60–53 advantage.

In the fourth quarter, LCCC showcased its composure and depth. Strong ball movement, disciplined shot selection, and clutch free-throw shooting allowed the Golden Eagles to extend their lead and seal the victory. LCCC shot an impressive 79.3 percent from the free-throw line, converting 23 of 29 attempts, a key factor in holding off Casper's late attempts to close the gap.

Sophomore Hannah Briskey led all scorers with a dominant performance, pouring in 27 points on 9-of-17 shooting while also grabbing nine rebounds. Briskey was aggressive attacking the basket and steady at the line, knocking down nine free throws to anchor LCCC's offense.

Nuria Florensa added a strong all-around effort with 22 points, highlighted by a sharp shooting night from beyond the arc where she connected on five three-pointers. Florensa's perimeter scoring stretched Casper's defense and opened lanes for LCCC throughout the game.

The Golden Eagles also received valuable contributions across the lineup. Irelynd Barnes chipped in eight points, while Alicia Trujillo facilitated the offense with four assists and added key defensive plays. LCCC finished the night shooting 46.9 percent from the field and 47.4 percent from three-point range, demonstrating efficiency at every level.
