In a match filled with momentum swings and dramatic goals, Scottsdale Community College narrowly defeated Laramie County Community College 3-2 in a high-energy contest that kept fans on edge until the final whistle.

The first half saw both teams create a handful of scoring opportunities. LCCC's best chance in the first half came when Emily Sheather played a perfectly timed through ball to Cami Paskett, who found herself one-on-one with the Scottsdale keeper but couldn't convert. Scottsdale broke the deadlock in the 40th minute when Alex Lewis launched a free kick from deep in her own half. The ball sailed over the LCCC defense and found Maria DeMark, who finished cleanly to give Scottsdale a 1-0 lead at halftime.

LCCC came out firing in the second half. In the 57th minute, Victoria Espinoza intercepted a pass and drove down the left side of the 18-yard box before shooting a left-footed shot to the far post, leveling the score at 1-1. Just a minute later, Jentrie Porter burst through two defenders on a bouncing ball and delivered a cutback cross to Avery Anderson, who slotted home a one-touch finish to give LCCC a 2-1 lead.

LCCC continued to press and created several more chances but couldn't extend their lead. Their defense held strong until the 83rd minute, when Scottsdale was awarded a penalty kick. Elizabeth Wheeler stepped up and converted, tying the game at 2-2.

Scottsdale wasn't done. In the closing minutes, LCCC failed to clear a bouncing ball, and Luisa McIntosh capitalized, threading a through ball to Alex Lewis. Lewis calmly placed her shot past LCCC keeper Jenna Feldmann to seal the 3-2 victory.

Feldmann finished the night with 3 saves, while Scottsdale's Kaylee Vasiloff recorded 4. LCCC outshot Scottsdale 13-12, with 8 shots on frame compared to Scottsdale's 6.
