LCCC Rebounds with 2–0 Win Over Central Wyoming College

After a frustrating loss to Northwest College the day before, Laramie County Community College bounced back in style with a 2–0 victory over Central Wyoming College, showcasing sharp attacking play and a disciplined defensive performance.

The Golden Eagles wasted no time asserting themselves. In just the 5th minute, Ekena Little won possession in the middle third and delivered a perfectly weighted diagonal ball into the corner for Avery Anderson. Anderson's pass found Emily Sheather in stride, who danced past two defenders inside the box and curled a right-footed shot into the far post, beating CWC goalkeeper Savannah Putman to give LCCC an early 1–0 lead.

LCCC continued to press and create chances throughout the first half, but it wasn't until the 30th minute that they doubled their advantage. Victoria Espinoza delivered a pinpoint corner kick that met the head of Jentrie Porter, who rose above the defense to nod home the final goal of the match.

The Golden Eagles' defense was rock solid, limiting Central Wyoming to just four shots. Goalkeeper Jenna Feldmann made three saves to preserve the shutout — LCCC's sixth of the season.

Head coach Lugo Arenas praised his team's response after the previous day's disappointment:

"I'm proud of how the team bounced back. We showed composure, creativity, and grit. That early goal set the tone, and defensively we were locked in. It's the kind of performance we needed heading into the final stretch of region play."

LCCC will wrap up Region IX play next week against Western Wyoming, looking to carry this momentum forward.
