A Historic Haul for Our Program as Standouts Shine Across the Pitch

The conclusion of the Region IX women's soccer plat brought postseason recognition for nine exceptional players from our program, as they earned spots on the prestigious all-Region IX teams. Their achievements, leadership, and dedication have propelled the team to new heights and set the stage for continued success at the national level.

Honorable Mention Team Selections

·      Defender Addie Gonzales (Sophomore, Cheyenne, WY): A defensive stalwart, Addie started all 15 games this season, providing consistency and grit along the backline. She recorded one assist and played a key role in securing seven shutouts for the team. Her efforts earned her a well-deserved spot on the Honorable Mention Team.

·      Midfielder Hailey Gillas (Sophomore, Firestone, CO): Hailey's versatility was on full display this season as she started 12 of 15 games and appeared in every match. With one goal and two assists, she was instrumental in both attack and defense, anchoring the midfield and earning Honorable Mention recognition.

Region IX Second Team Selections

·      Midfielder Haley Pierson (Sophomore, Cheyenne, WY): Starting 12 of 15 games and playing in 13 total, Haley contributed two assists and, most notably, netted the game-winning goal in the Region IX championship—securing the team's spot in the national tournament.

·      Forward Avery Anderson (Freshman, Nevada, IA): An offensive force, Avery started every match and led the team with 12 goals and two assists. Her relentless attacking play was a cornerstone of the team's offense.

·      Defender Evelyn Anderson (Freshman, Nevada, IA): Another ever-present figure, Evelyn started all 15 games, contributing two goals and helping the backline achieve seven shutouts.

·      Midfielder Jentrie Porter (Sophomore, Clearfield, UT): For the second consecutive year, Jentrie earned Second Team honors. She started all 15 games, tallying four goals and eight assists, and was a dynamic presence in midfield.

Region IX First Team Selections

·      Forward Emily Sheather (Freshman, Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia): Emily's breakout season saw her start 14 of 15 games, recording 11 goals and four assists. Her finishing ability and attacking flair were recognized with a First Team nod.

·      Defender Victoria Espinoza (Freshman, Kerns, UT): Victoria's outstanding play was rewarded with both First Team All-Region IX honors and the coveted Defender of the Year award. She started 14 games, was integral to the team's seven shutouts, and contributed an impressive six goals and seven assists—showcasing her skill at both ends of the pitch.

·      Defender Ekena Little (Sophomore, Cheyenne, WY): Ekena repeated as a First Team selection after starting all 15 matches, scoring four goals, and helping secure seven shutouts. Her reliability and leadership in defense were vital throughout the season.
