Laramie County Community College Volleyball is proud to announce the signing of Laney Dahlberg, an outstanding multi‑sport scholar‑athlete whose academic excellence, leadership experience, and offensive firepower will elevate the Golden Eagles' 2026 roster.
Dahlberg joins LCCC from a decorated high school career—both in the classroom and on the court. A 2026 Valedictorian, Dahlberg has earned Roll of Excellence honors all four years, served in multiple leadership roles, and accumulated numerous awards across FCCLA, SkillsUSA, Quiz Bowl, and One Act competitions. Her résumé includes:
- NHS Chapter President (12)
- FCCLA STAR State Qualifier (9–12) and National Qualifier (10)
- SkillsUSA Chapter President (10)
- One Act MNAC Outstanding Performance Award (9, 11, 12)
- One Act District Outstanding Performance Award (11, 12)
- Quiz Bowl Team Captain (12)
On the volleyball court, Dahlberg has proven herself as one of the top competitors in her division. She is a 1,000‑kill athlete, a three‑time All‑Conference First Team selection, and a multi‑year state and district honoree, including recognition from both the Omaha World-Herald and Lincoln Journal Star. Her accomplishments include:
- Academic All-State (2025)
- Conference Champion (10, 12)
- D2 District Runner-Up (10, 11, 12)
- Team Captain (11, 12)
- Omaha World-Herald 2nd Team D2 (11)
- Lincoln Journal Star 2nd Team D2 (11)
Dahlberg said the sense of community and comfort she felt during her visits made LCCC the clear choice.
"The main reason I chose LCCC over other schools was because I felt welcomed and at home," she said. "On both of my visits everyone was super nice and easy to talk to. The team made me love it even more—they helped me in practice, showed me around, and explained what life is like as a student. The location was also a big factor. The campus is easy to get to, close to home, and Cheyenne is easy to navigate. I think LCCC will help me achieve my goals in education and athletics."
Looking ahead, Dahlberg is eager to embrace the independence and growth that come with collegiate athletics.
"I'm excited for new experiences—playing college volleyball, going to in-person classes, and living away from home," she said. "Next year, I'll get to make memories and meet new people that I wouldn't have the chance to in other places. I'm most excited to experience life on my own, and I think being a Golden Eagle will help me succeed."
LCCC Volleyball is thrilled to welcome Dahlberg to the program and looks forward to the athletic impact, academic leadership, and strong character she will bring to the Golden Eagle community.
