Laramie County Community College Volleyball is thrilled to announce the signing of Öykü Yalçınkaya, a high‑level outside hitter from Kocaeli, Turkey, whose international experience, competitive success, and elite training background will bring a new level of depth and versatility to the Golden Eagles' 2026 roster.
Yalçınkaya arrives at LCCC with an exceptional résumé across indoor and beach volleyball. Her achievements include multiple provincial championships, podium finishes in national tournaments, and selection to the Türkiye U16 National Team, one of the highest honors for youth athletes in the country. During her recruitment, Yalçınkaya explored many opportunities across the United States but said LCCC quickly separated itself from the rest.
"From the very beginning of my transfer process, I considered many options, but LCCC was always at the top of my list," she said. "What attracted me most was not just the sports program, but the strong family culture where athletes are supported in every way. The genuine sense of trust I felt during my conversations with the coaches and teammates made me realize I was in the right place. This is not just a school; it is a home where I can reach my full potential."
Yalçınkaya comes to LCCC excited to embrace new challenges and contribute to the competitive environment that defines the Golden Eagle program.
"What excites me most about the upcoming season is pushing my limits in this highly competitive environment and improving a little more each day," she said.
