CHEYENNE, WY - Freshman Taylor Gollhofer (Greeley, Colo.) scored a career-high 12 points off the bench, helping the Golden Eagles (3-3) to a 74-43 win over Trinidad State (1-1) on Friday afternoon.
Gollhofer and Abby Garreaud (Magna, Utah) combined for 30 points as Garreaud led all scorers with 18 points and grabbed 12 rebounds, overwhelming the Trojans. LCCC opened up an 18-9 lead over Trinidad State after the first quarter but the Trojans responded by putting together a 7-2 run to open the quarter, helping the Trojans cut the Golden Eagles' deficit to 26-19 at the break.
Sam Hester (Saratoga Springs, Utah) finished the game with 10 points, recording double figures for the fourth time this season.
LCCC came out of the locker room and started the second half on a 16-0 run, grabbing a 42-19 lead. The Golden Eagles outscored the Trojans 21-9 in the third quarter and 27-15 in the fourth, on their way to a 74-43 win.
Ariadna Bleda (Barcelona, Spain) scored eight points off the bench.
LCCC is next scheduled to play on Tuesday, February 9 at home against Northeastern.
