SCOTTSBLUFF, NE - Western Nebraska (9-2) opened the game by outscoring the Golden Eagles (5-4) 27-6 in the first quarter as the Golden Eagles saw their three-game winning streak come to an end in a 92-48 loss on Monday night. 

The Cougars 57.6% from the field in the first half and raced out to a 50-18 lead at the break. 

Abby Garreaud (Magna, Utah) scored 12 points and pulled in seven rebounds in the loss.

LCCC played the Cougars even in the third quarter as Lucia Fleta (Tenerife, Spain) hit a pair of threes. Fleta ended with 12 points on 4-8 shooting.

Western Nebraska pulled away in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Golden Eagles, 27-15.

Sam Hester (Saratoga Springs, Utah) led the team with eight rebounds and three steals. The Golden Eagles continue the road trip on Saturday against Trinidad State at 2:00 pm.
