LCCC Women's Basketball Secures First Win of the Season Over NPCC

North Platte, NE — The Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles earned their first victory of the season with a commanding 78–63 win over North Platte Community College on Friday.

LCCC came out strong, building momentum early with a 14–8 lead in the first quarter and extending it to 39–25 by halftime. The Golden Eagles maintained their edge throughout the second half, matching NPCC's third-quarter output and closing the game with a decisive 21-point fourth quarter.

Five Golden Eagles scored in double figures, led by Hannah Briskey with 17 points, followed by Sabela Carro with 14 points and 8 rebounds. Nuria Florensa added 12 points, while Selenay Tanik and Julia Sanz Bonet chipped in 10 and 8 points, respectively.

LCCC dominated the boards with 43 total rebounds, including 15 offensive, and forced 18 steals while committing 26 turnovers themselves. Despite shooting just 21.7% from three-point range, the Golden Eagles capitalized on their aggressive play and outpaced NPCC in field goals made and overall shooting percentage (43.1% FG compared to NPCC's 35.1% FG).

North Platte was led by Ligia Thortvedt with 12 points, and Abigail Haas with 11 points. Despite a strong rebounding effort (51 total rebounds), NPCC struggled with ball control, committing 33 turnovers and shooting just 51.4% from the free throw line.
