Laramie County Community College battled hard on their home court Saturday afternoon but fell to a sharp-shooting Dodge City Community College squad, 86–45.
The Golden Eagles fought through a challenging start, trailing 24–11 after the first quarter, and continued to compete until the final buzzer. Despite offensive struggles, LCCC showed determination on the glass, pulling down 41 rebounds, including 16 offensive boards, to create second-chance opportunities.
Selenay Tanik led the team with 10 points, adding 3 assists and 3 steals. Sabela Carro contributed 8 points and 7 rebounds, while Glorielle Mukeba added 7 boards and a block. The team shot 84.6% from the free-throw line, capitalizing on opportunities at the stripe.
Defensively, the Golden Eagles forced 12 steals and battled in the paint against a Dodge City team that shot 50% from the field and hit 17 three-pointers.
