Golden Eagles Dominate North Platte in Statement Win

Cheyenne, WY –
The Laramie County Community College women's basketball team delivered a commanding performance Friday night, defeating North Platte Community College 87–67 at home. From the opening quarter, the Golden Eagles asserted control, combining efficient shooting with relentless defense to secure the victory.

LCCC jumped out to a 26–14 lead in the first quarter and maintained its momentum through the second, entering halftime ahead by 19 points. The Eagles' balanced scoring and aggressive rebounding proved too much for North Platte, which struggled to keep pace despite a late surge in the fourth.

Hannah Briskey led all scorers with 19 points and added 8 rebounds, showcasing her dominance in the paint. Selenay Tanik filled the stat sheet with 15 points, 5 steals, and strong perimeter defense. Irelynd Barnes contributed 14 points, including three three-pointers, while Sabela Carro chipped in 10 points and 7 rebounds. Bench production was key, with Nuria Florensa hitting three triples for 9 points.

The Golden Eagles controlled the boards with a 45–38 rebounding edge and forced 26 turnovers, turning defense into offense throughout the contest. LCCC shot 43.5% from the field and knocked down 10 three-pointers, while holding North Platte to 40.3% shooting.

For North Platte, Dezirae Gonzales paced the Knights with 17 points, and Aliyah Herron added 14, but the visitors couldn't overcome LCCC's depth and tempo.
