Laramie County Community College (LCCC) delivered a commanding performance Saturday afternoon, defeating Trinidad State College 78-39 at the Scott Gymnasium in Trinidad, Colorado. The Golden Eagles controlled the game from start to finish, showcasing offensive efficiency and defensive intensity.
LCCC jumped out to a 24-8 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. Their balanced attack continued through the second period, extending the margin to 41-17 at halftime. The Golden Eagles maintained their dominance in the second half, outscoring Trinidad State 37-22 over the final two quarters.
Sophomore forward Sabela Carro led the way with an impressive 19 points on near-perfect shooting (7-of-8 FG, 4-of-4 from three). Glorielle Mukeba added 17 points and provided a strong inside presence, while Alicia Trujillo chipped in 11 points off the bench. LCCC's depth was evident, with 37 points coming from reserves.
The Golden Eagles shot 40.3% from the field and connected on 11 three-pointers, including a scorching 55.6% clip in the third quarter. They also capitalized on Trinidad State's mistakes, scoring 36 points off turnovers.
