Golden Eagles Crush Trinidad State 8-0

Corner taken by Victoria Espinoza

The Laramie County Community College women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance on Friday, overpowering Trinidad State Junior College in a match that lasted just 70 minutes due to the lopsided scoreline. From the opening whistle, the Golden Eagles asserted their dominance, securing an 8-0 win and showcasing their depth, precision, and attacking flair.

The scoring began early in the 9th minute when Victoria Espinoza's corner kick found the head of Ekena Little, putting LCCC up 1-0. Just three minutes later, Espinoza struck again—this time from a free kick 18 yards out—blasting the ball into the top of the net past TSJC goalkeeper Alexis Trancredo.

LCCC's relentless pressure continued in the 14th minute when Emily Sheather battled for possession and laid it off to Jocelyn Trejo, who curled a shot to the far post for the third goal. The Golden Eagles' bench proved just as dangerous, with Emma Cortez threading a perfect through ball to Hailey Grillas in the 25th minute. Grillas calmly finished the 1v1 chance to make it 4-0.

Espinoza remained a constant threat, driving into the box and delivering a cut-back pass to Cortez, who slotted home from six yards out in the 29th minute. Another set piece in the 39th minute saw Jentrie Porter's corner connect with Little again, who headed in her second goal of the match. Just a minute later, Grillas raced down the flank and delivered a pinpoint cross to Sheather, who finished with a header to close out the half at 7-0.

The final goal came in the 58th minute when a rebound off the post fell to Sheather, who calmly beat the keeper in a 1v1 situation to complete the rout.

LCCC's defense was impenetrable, not allowing a single shot from TSJC throughout the match. The Golden Eagles controlled possession, tempo, and territory, leaving no doubt about their dominance.

With this emphatic win, LCCC turns its attention to tomorrow's home matchup against Otero, looking to carry forward the momentum and continue their strong form.
