LCCC Volleyball Push #5-Ranked Northeastern to Five Sets in Gritty Battle

The Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles entered Tuesday night's matchup with a 12-8 record, facing one of their toughest challenges of the season against the nationally ranked #5 Northeastern Junior College. In a thrilling five-set showdown, LCCC fell just short, losing 2-3 in a match that showcased resilience, grit, and standout performances across the board.

After dropping the first two sets, the Golden Eagles stormed back with determination, claiming the next two and forcing a decisive fifth set. Despite their momentum, LCCC came up short in the final frame, falling 9-15 to the visiting Plainswomen.

Sophomore standout Sila Yildiz led the charge for LCCC, hitting an impressive .500 with 13 kills, five block assists, and one solo block. Beatrice Nani followed closely behind, contributing 14 kills on a .357 hitting percentage and adding seven block assists to her stat line. Adriana Deming added nine kills, seven digs, and two block assists, while setter Addison Schreurs orchestrated the offense with 42 assists and 11 digs. Libero Savannah Cumming anchored the defense with a team-high 18 digs.

Despite the loss, the Golden Eagles proved they can compete with the best in the nation and will look to carry that momentum into their upcoming home matches this weekend. LCCC hosts Gillette College on Friday, followed by a special "Flight for a Cure" Pink Out match against Casper College on Saturday at 2 p.m.
