Laramie County Community College delivered one of its most complete performances of the season Saturday, overpowering Casper College 88–70 behind efficient scoring, relentless rebounding, and a balanced attack that saw five Golden Eagles reach double figures.
LCCC's combination of interior strength and crisp offensive execution proved too much for the Thunderbirds, who shot just 21 percent from three and struggled to slow down the Eagles' interior presence.
Fiagbe, Coulter, and Elgizawy Lead the Charge
The Golden Eagles' starting group controlled the game from start to finish.
Sophomore forward Isaac Fiagbe anchored the attack with a dominant 21 points on 8‑for‑11 shooting and a team‑high 9 rebounds, finishing through contact and controlling the paint all afternoon.
Guard TJ Coulter turned in another strong outing with 19 points, grabbing 8 rebounds and hitting two threes while orchestrating LCCC's pace.
Karim Elgizawy played one of his most efficient offensive games of the year, scoring 16 points on 5‑for‑7 shooting, adding 6 rebounds, and connecting on 4 of 5 attempts from the foul line.
Their trio accounted for 56 of the Eagles' 88 points.
Phillips and Binford Set the Tone on the Glass
LCCC's dominance on the boards fueled everything.
Brevin Phillips continued his strong two‑way play with 9 points and 8 rebounds, providing physicality at the forward spot and defending multiple positions. Aeremiah Binford, inserted into the starting lineup, delivered 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 4 assists, impacting the game at every level.
Together, the Eagles outrebounded Casper 45–30, including a commanding 35 defensive boards that limited the Thunderbirds' second‑chance opportunities.
Bench Production Extends the Lead
The LCCC reserves added valuable scoring in key stretches:
- Anthony Nettles supplied 10 points, including a pair of threes that sparked second‑half runs.
- Myles Moskowitz added a perfect 3-point bucket in his nine minutes.
- The bench combined for 23 points, maintaining pressure while the starters rested.
LCCC shot 56.1% from the field and 35% from deep, its most efficient offensive performance over the last several games.
Casper Fights, but Can't Match LCCC's Balance
Casper's offense leaned heavily on Zaire Richardson (18 points) and Nasir Washington (15 points), but the Thunderbirds were ultimately unable to keep pace with LCCC's depth and efficiency.
Casper shot just 4‑for‑19 from three, and LCCC's rim protection and defensive rebounding held them to only seven offensive boards.
Forward Buai Luak added 13 points and 5 rebounds, but the Thunderbirds never truly threatened after halftime as LCCC's lead ballooned beyond 15.
Golden Eagles Control the Game Wire‑to‑Wire
From the opening tip, LCCC dictated tempo, spacing, and physicality. The Eagles' 19 turnovers were the lone blemish on an otherwise dominant performance, but Casper was unable to convert those miscues into enough scoring to close the gap.
LCCC's ability to win the rebounding battle, share the ball (10 assists on 32 makes), and score efficiently at all three levels powered the convincing 88–70 victory.
