CHEYENNE, WY - Sam Hester (Saratoga Springs, Utah) scored 22 points as the Golden Eagles (8-6, 2-2) picked up a 74-41 win over the Western Wyoming Mustangs (2-11, 1-3) on Saturday afternoon.

The Golden Eagles used big runs to run away from the Mustangs. LCCC opened the game with an 11-5 run and would finish the first quarter leading 22-8. Both Kaysen Hobbs (Fort Collins, Colo.) and Abby Garreaud (Magna, Utah) had six points in the first quarter.

Hobbs finished with a season-high 12 points while Garreaud ended the game with six points and seven rebounds.

LCCC started the second quarter on an 11-6 run and would take a 35-14 lead into the break.

Lucia Fleta (Tenerife, Spain) made her first career start and scored 11 points.

The Golden Eagles outscored the Mustangs 24-13 in the third quarter and held off Western Wyoming in the fourth.

Anna Terron (Tarragona, Spain) scored six points and dished out a game-high six assists. 

LCCC returns to action on Wednesday night, hosting Central Wyoming at 5:30 pm.
